Martin Stephens has, now 8 weeks after his injury, been told by his orthopaedic consultant that he can start to weight bear on his left leg. His cast has been replaced with one that allows this. He will be reviewed again in a month when he hopes that he will be on one crutch rather than the two he uses at present. So there is light at the end of the tunnel!

He is also hoping that his company will facilitate his return to work locally but this may mean a policy change to allow his car to be switched for an automatic, which he will be allowed to drive by the DVLA.
Once Martin is rid of all the excess baggage around his leg, he will have to work on the proprioception (balance) of his left ankle before he gets back into a RIB and starts mark laying. So there is still a way to go but his is going in the right direction.
