
Real Life: Senior Trainer Assessor covering all the large mobile plant training and assessment needs for Tarmac in the southern part of the UK. Qualified to operate all this type of equipment in anger - basically I get to play with very big tonker toys! Also a qualified QCF NVQ assessor of the Health, Safety and Environmental NVQ in the Extractives Industry, assessing all involved up to and including Director Level.
Clubs: Mumbles Yacht Club and Bristol Channel Yacht Club.
ISAF/RYA Qualifications: National Mark Layer; CRO+; First aid; VHF/DSC; Powerboat level 2; Safety boat.
Race Management Experience: 8 years mainly mark laying but also as safety boat cover. Course configurations - windward/leeward and trapezoid; slalom finish for RS:X boards. Experience of Medal Races. Disciplines include dinghies, catamarans, Olympic Classes, boards and keelboats.
Major Events: As mark layer - World Championships x 5 (IWA 2009, RS:X 2009, Dart 18 2010, Laser Masters 2010, ISAF Worlds, Perth 2011); Olympic Test Event 2011; ISAF Sailing World Cup Events x 5 (Sail for Gold, 2007-2011); European Championships x 1 (RS:X, Madeira 2011); National Championships x 11 (2005-2012); Cork Week 2010; Hamble Winter Series 2010.
Sailing and Racing Experience: Raced since the age of 8 helming and crewing a wide range of mono hulls (Mirrors, GP’s, Enterprises, Lasers, Fireballs, Ospreys, 505’s and keelboat cruisers) and catamarans. For the past 12 years competed in a Tornado.
Competed in Regional, National, European and World Championships.
