Ross Wilson has received well deserved recognition for his years of service within the field of race management. On 23rd April Ross received the Victorian Olympic Council's Julius L Patching Sports Official of the Year Award. This year, in an unprecedented move away from the norm, the award was made to not one but two individuals - Ross and his twin brother Kevin.
The criteria for the award includes the level of contribution, longevity of service, impact to sport, demonstration of excellence, attitude and peer feedback. Without doubt Ross excels in all these areas.
Ross, Chairman of the ISAF Race Management Sub-Committee, is already a good friend with everyone on the SolentXtra team. In addition to working with Robert Lamb and Martin Stephens at the ISAF Worlds in Australia last year, he has worked with us at major events in the UK in both 2010 nad 2011. Ross will be working with the team as the senior Internatinal Technical Officer at the 2012 Olympics on the RS:X course.
Congratulations Ross! See you soon in Weymouth.
